Code Coven - Intro To Game Making - Assignement #3

Goal: Use provided scripts and your existing knowledge to create a unique 2D gameplay experience. Projects should build on the Platformer base project. Get creative with it! Find interesting ways to use and modify the provided scripts.

Requirements:

  • Script modification, edit or add to existing scripts for unique gameplay. 
  • Controllable character.
  • Replace art assets, use free assets from the Unity Store or create your own!
  • Implement music and audio.
  • If the character "dies", restart the game scene.
  • Playable build submitted on Monday at the start of class.
  • An ending!

Challenges! (Optional, but fun! Pick any, all, or none.)

  • Create more than one gameplay scene with a scene transition for multiple levels
  • Implement a timer or score counter
  • Record and implement your own sound effects
  • Create a two player game with two controllable characters
  • Create your own art assets and use them in the game
  • Implement a double jump!

Designer's Note: I really wanted to create a narratively driven experience, because that is the space I hope to take up in this industry. The story is based on a character that exists within a Living World called Pastoria that is home to many different multimedia projects including tabletop roleplaying games, digital games, interactive fiction, prose fiction and more.
